Garment Care

Here's how to ensure your Fortan garments remain as good as new for as long as possible

Biking Jerseys & Trail Trousers

#1 Remove all dirt

Use a soft cloth to remove most of the dirt.

#2 Wash according to labels

Follow the instructions on the clothing label and choose a suitable program. Place your item in the washing machine and use a non-biological washing liquid or Grangers tech was.h If you cannot read the label, you should wash your clothes on a gentle cycle and a slow spin - around 30 degrees is optimal. **For any stubborn stains or marks, you may use a spot stain removal spray, prior to washing

#3 Tumble dry on low heat or air dry

Fully dry the garment at a low temperature in the tumble dryer, or air dry.

Jackets & Gilets

#1 Remove all dirt

Do up any zips or velcro and close any flaps. Use a soft brush or cloth to remove most of the dirt.

#2 Wash according to labels

Follow the instructions on the clothing label and choose a suitable program to wash your waterproof clothes. Place your item in the washing machine (ideally 1 item per wash) and use a non-biological soap or a waterproof washing liquid to add extra protection. If you cannot read the label, you should wash your clothes on a gentle cycle and a slow spin - around 30 degrees is optimal. **For any stubborn stains or marks, you may use a spot stain removal spray, prior to washing

#3 Give your clothes an extra spin

After the washing cycle has finished, run multiple spin cycles - each time incrementally increasing the spin speed, to remove excess water.

#4 Tumble dry on low heat or air dry

Fully dry the garment at a low temperature in the tumble dryer, or air dry.

#5 adding extra water repellency

Either wash the garment again with a wash-in water repellency product like Grangers repell plus, or after washing and whilst the garment is still damp, use a spray on repellency product and apply as instructed.
